June, 2025 – Summer is here!

Summer has finally arrived and its official date is Friday, June 20th which also happens to be the longest day of the year.  In honor of summer solstice, you can celebrate the sun at dawn, create a fairie garden, or even make a sun dial.

We remember the anniversary of the fire, 51 years ago also on June 20th (1974).  It is incredibly hard to reconcile being that scared 17 year old girl getting ready to jump out of her second story bedroom window to escape perishing in the blazing fire with the 68 year old woman who stares back at me every morning.

I often think what life would have been like if there was never a fire.  Honestly, I cannot even imagine and give thanks to the life I have filled with fond memories and loving friends and family. I marvel as I watch my nieces and nephew grow up, my daughter as she walked down the aisle as a beautiful bride and now wife, and my sisters as we embrace the journey of getting old and how to stay young at the same time!

So, take some time to celebrate summer and do something memorable and enjoyable like reading or listening to my story, The Fire She Set, available as a book, kindle or audible.
