HONOR

May celebrates moms everywhere although I never thought one day was enough!  Moms play a special part in all of our lives, we all have one and it’s our very first relationship and connection to the world and life itself.  So, this very special and often complicated relationship can either be very good or very bad and sometimes it is a little bit of everything!

My sisters and I share our memories of our mother, Nancy, who at best was complicated and challenging and remembered in my book, The Fire She Set.   Over time, we learned to forgive and with that power, we could honor her, each other and ourselves.  Motherhood, like aging, is not for the weak hearted.  It takes lots of work, energy and a sense of humor never hurts!

If I were to color the month of May, it would be in shades of pink and I would don my rose colored glasses and view the world as an amazing and wondrous place (this is where optimism plays a big part!).  As we start the new month of May, honor yourself and your loved ones, and sally forth enjoying your new found optimism in your rose colored glasses!
