Holidays 2023 – Remembering with Gratitude

Holiday 2023 –  Remembering with Gratitude

The holidays are now upon us as we take a moment to reflect back on 2023.  So before the thanksgiving dinner needs to be cooked and the rush to find the perfect gift, mail cards on time and attend gala parties demands our time and attention, I happily hit the pause button.

This year was filled with much sadness and joy.  We still mourn the loss of Liz, our youngest sister and this is the first holiday without her.  Likewise, my dearest friend’s son Chris died last month, after a 40 year struggle with Muscular Dystrophy.  Both Liz and Chris are remembered for their kind souls and the amazing role they played in our lives.

The sadness is offset with joy and gratitude.  My retirement in May and most exciting, The Fire She Set is now available as an audible.  Please feel free to download and listen at www.audiblebooks.com.  The story becomes so much more real due to the wonderful narration by Bridget Beirne.

I am grateful for all my family, friends and readers and I look forward to a memorable 2024 new year.  My resolution is to write more and publish next year, our family cookbook, with recipes from The Fire She Set favorite family meals—it will be dedicated to Liz whose passion for good food and cooking was magical!
