August 2024

Cherish!

The dog days of August are upon us as we enjoy the heart of summer with its hot days and long summer nights.  The rich colors of our gardens bloom brightly in cranberry, purple, red, pink, yellow, and white flowers spreading color everywhere.  We can also sample our labors from our vegetable gardens.  It’s time for big salads, fresh sweet corn and red juicy tomatoes and tasting the sweetness of handpicked strawberries and huckleberries (who favor the underbrush of forests dominated by fir and pine trees).

There is still time for summer travel and enjoying water activities like swimming, fishing, kayaking, or boating in any stream, river, lake or ocean you choose.  We also have time to reflect on the beauty of nature, in all her glory, and hope we can be good stewards of the environment and not leave behind a large carbon footprint.

So, no matter what your summer plans, make sure you bring along THE FIRE SHE SET (in book, kindle or audible) and enjoy a good story!  Tell your friends and family and please feel free to post a comment or review on Facebook.
